Many adults, 50 and older suffer with adult-onset diabetes. The condition, also known as Type 2 diabetes, has become the 7th leading cause of death in the United States alone.

Unlike type 1 diabetes, type 2 generally develops in people of African American, American Indian, Asian American, Latino, and Pacific Islander backgrounds. The disease accounts for an astounding 90-95% of all diabetic cases.

Adult-onset diabetes is characterized by high levels of sugar in the blood. The high blood sugar levels “spills over” into the urine instead of assisting the body’s cells use of glucose for energy.

Specifically, an individual that has developed type 2 diabetes produces insulin, however the insulin is unable to perform its primary job.

The pancreas, the insulin producing organ is overworked as it tries to compensate for the insulin that builds up in the bloodstream. It exerts extra effort to accommodate rising blood sugar levels and high circulating levels of insulin.

As there are several risk factors for developing the type of diabetes, it is imperative that you seek medical attention and treatment for proper maintenance and possible cure. More importantly, educate yourself with the signs and symptoms of type 2 diabetes:

Frequent urination

Rapid breathing

Unexplained weight loss

Fatigue

Mood swings

Blurred vision

Extreme thirst

Although the direct causes for adult-onset diabetes are unclear, it is safe to conceive that the disease has a prominent hereditary component. Research indicates that an individual with a parent or sibling who has suffered from type 2 diabetes has 10- 15% chance of developing it. Environmental factors may act as a trigger for someone with a genetic tendency. Risk factors for developing type 2 diabetes are

Obesity/overweight

Heredity

Ethnicity

Hypertension

Poor cholesterol profile

Being diagnosed pre-diabetic

Gestational diabetes

Most people aren’t aware that living a healthy lifestyle can actually cure adult-onset diabetes. Achieving and maintaining an optimal weight and eating a balanced diet have proven to have cured at least 90% of type 2 diabetics.

Specifically, nutrition and diet is so critical to the control of the disease. Here are some tips to help any individual having difficulty controlling the symptoms.

Some individuals may require oral medications in that diet and exercise alone are not successful with keeping blood sugars in a safe range. Additionally, others may eventually require regular insulin injections to control glucose levels.

Decrease or avoid intake of refined sugar

Avoid high complex carbohydrates and raw foods

Decrease fat

Increase fiber

Decrease consumption of fruit

Increase regular physical activity

Research indicated that diabetes and depression go hand-in-hand. Furthermore, diabetes often increases the risk of depression compared to those that don’t have the disease. However, in most cases, depression has increased the risk of type 2 diabetes.

Unfortunately, as the symptoms of diabetes worsen; as does the effects of depression. This alludes to a dangerous vicious cycle in that the patient stops managing their diabetes which means increased incidents of long term complications.

Recent studies implemented to evaluate the consistency of diabetes and depression revealed prevalent results. The rate of diabetes with major depression is 3 to 4 times greater than the general population.

Specifically, according to the American Diabetes Association, 15 to 20% depression rate increases in diabetic patients. It is also confirmed that women are at a greater risk. The combination of them both, whatever the statistics indicate, may have great potential for life-threatening results.

Each of the conditions becomes more and more difficult to manage. The conditions may lead to cardiovascular disease, blindness, and stroke. Ironically enough, an additional study identified that depression in diabetes equals a greater risk factor for heart disease than high blood sugar levels.

It is important for you to know the symptoms of both diseases in order to obtain the proper care and treatment. It is unfortunate that many healthcare professionals miss the signs of depression; therefore never receiving help. Individuals who are depressed aren’t able to care for diabetes properly. Some of the symptoms of diabetes include

Fatigue

Extreme thirst

Frequent urination

Blurring vision

Extreme weight loss

Deep- faster breathing

Trembles

Nausea- vomit

The common symptoms for depression include:

Lack of appetite or over eating

Fatigue or loss of energy

Sleep disturbances (not sleeping or sleeping too much)

Lack of interest in things that use to bring pleasure

Feelings of hopelessness

Feelings of helplessness or worthless

Loss of concentration

Sadness for prolonged times

Restlessness for no apparent reason

As you can see, the symptoms of depression have significant capability of antagonizing the ability to properly control your diabetes. Furthermore, people with diabetes and depression would have a difficult time communicating to the physician their thoughts, feelings, and what symptoms they are experiencing.

As depression is noted to trigger the onset of diabetes or perhaps make it worse, it is obviously necessary to effectively manage one’s depression to keep the diabetes under control. The physicians should take your depression under consideration and treat accordingly.

You should take depression medications that will co-exist with diabetic treatment. The diabetic must also take the responsibility to implement a healthy life-style. Here is a list of treatment regimens for individuals suffering with diabetes and depression.

Tricydic antidepressant

Nortriptyline antidepressants

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Prozac

These medications have proven to improve the levels in diabetic patients that also suffer with depression. Study shows that people who develop diabetes are also diagnosed- treated for depression within six months.

It is important that you recognize the symptoms and risk factors of both conditions, to avoid further complications and to live a quality life. Ask your physician for a depression screening immediately upon diagnosis of diabetes. Risk factors such as obesity is number one; especially amongst people with diabetes and depression. Depressed people tend to eat more and exercise less.

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) has approved to enhance diabetes guidelines that are reviewed on a regular basis. The complete review is based on the expert opinions of a diverse group of highly trained clinicians.

The guidelines are intended to provide clinicians, patients, researchers, and other interested individuals with the components of standard diabetes care, to include treatment goals and the tools required to evaluate the quality of care rendered.

Diabetes is a severe condition that requires continued medical care. It also requires patient’s self-knowledge and self-management in order to prevent acute complications as well as long term, life threatening conditions.

Diabetes guidelines offer vital information that promotes a range of interventions provided to improve diabetes outcomes. Diabetes is very complex and must suggest standards to accommodate additional issues beyond glycemic control. Unfortunately, many people with diabetes are not treated properly or receive the assistance they need.

Fortunately, the ADA has made crucial recommendations that target the growing number of diabetes patient. These recommendations and guidelines encompass more extensive evaluations and management strategies for the patient. The recommendations include screening, diagnostic, and therapeutic actions that are suggested to favorably affect health outcomes of diabetic patients.

Initially, the ADA issued progressive classification and diagnostic criteria for diagnosing diabetes.

A) Type 1 – usually leads to absolute insulin deficiency (no insulin produced by the pancreas)

B) Type 2 – results from insulin resistance (body’s inability to accept the insulin produced)

C) Diabetes due to other causes – genetic defects in cell functions, genetic defects in insulin action, diseases of the exocrine pancreas, and drug- or chemically induced

D) Gestational diabetes mellitus – diagnosed during pregnancy

There are three ways to diagnose diabetes that is recommended through ADA diabetes guidelines.

E) Tolerance Test (OGTT) – sensitive and modest, yet not recommended for routine clinical use *useful for further evaluation of patients of whom diabetes is strongly suspected

F) Fasting Plasma Glucose (FPG) – poorly reproducible and difficult to perform in practice, yet easy to use and at a low cost * preferred by patients

G) A1C – not previously recommended as a measure to diagnose diabetes due to a lack of global standardization until 2008 * became the preferred diagnostic test for diabetes due to increasing observational evidence.

Conclusively, the American Diabetes Association diabetes guidelines identify three important techniques for quality diabetes care: initial evaluation, management, and glycemic control. These techniques are essential in regards to the lives of many Americans that are living with this serious disease.

Diabetes is a disease that affects both children and adults alike. It is very dangerous as it can affect every part of the body; leading to life-threatening conditions. It is important that people with this condition visit their healthcare provider regular and practice extensive life-style therapy. As the number of diabetes cases increase, the need for diabetes health care also increases. Ongoing education and individual care is beneficial for diabetes home health care patients.

Unfortunately, the increasing number of diabetes patients, whether type 1 or type 2 are causing astounding challenges for health care providers worldwide. Due to hospital changes in policies regarding treatment for diabetes, the patient’s length of stay continues to shorten.

Therefore, patients are forced to obtain holistic health care in their own homes. Home diabetes health care has substantially increased, which in the long- run has improved patients quality of life. Furthermore, in-home care promotes ongoing strategies to enhance and promote diabetes awareness.

According to the American Diabetes Association, when patients are hospitalized for other conditions, diabetes is rarely a major entity of concern. Hospital records may not even include a diagnosis of diabetes. In older patients, blood glucose levels is often ignored, or regulated as secondary to other conditions. The diabetic population in the United States is 65 or older, which is projected to increase to 53% by 2025.

This would suggest that older people with diabetes and hyperglycemia may encounter a greater risk of significant cognitive decline or physical disability. Hyperglycemia also causes sleep disturbances, incontinence, dehydration, impaired inability, and visual disturbances. It is increasingly essential for home health care providers to tailor health care to caring for the aging population.

Initially, diabetes health care is not a home care network concern; relishing numerous poor blood glucose measurements. More so, the levels are not even included in initial or ongoing patient assessments. Hence, most home health care patients are referred by hospitals; generally not treated for diabetes care.

Regulated administrative movement to improve the quality of home health care for diabetes does not exist. There are existing barriers that prevent extensive diabetes assessment, self-management, and actual care for this particular population, however. Significant analysis reports have been published that hinder the enhancement of diabetes health care for the home.

1. No regulatory agency that evaluates the quality of home health care interventions for patients with diabetes

2. Home health care patients must supply their own glucose meter and test strips in order to properly asses their glycemic control. This process is to be identified as important as blood pressure, temperature, weight, height, heart sound, and lung sounds. Yet, surprisingly enough, many home health care agencies do not permit nurses to transport blood glucose meters.

3. Hyperglycemia is not considered such a diabetic medical emergency as compared to hypoglycemia or low blood glucose level. Hypoglycemia is regarded as a significant change in condition, to include mental status changes.

4. Home care American Diabetes Association standards do not require physicians to routinely order hemoglobin for their home health care patients with diabetes. Unfortunately, the largest percentage of home health care clients is the elderly with diabetes. They are not receiving optimal diabetes care.

Type2 diabetes also referred to as adult onset diabetes accounts for 90% of all cases in the United States. Unfortunately, many people aren’t aware that they have even developed the disease. This is why it is so important to at least recognize the symptoms. The ongoing goals for the treatment of type 2 diabetes are to prevent long term complications and prolong your life.

However, immediate goals are significant to reverse the symptoms and possibly cure the condition. The symptoms of this type of diabetes are becoming more common, in lieu of increasing numbers of elderly patients, lack of physical activity, and increased obesity rates.

Adult diabetes occurs when the pancreas does not make enough insulin to keep blood glucose levels normal. Furthermore, the body does not effectively use the insulin produced, called insulin resistance. As a result, high levels of sugar in the blood exist, creating an epidemic of high blood sugar levels.

Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas to regulate blood glucose levels. Any one suffering with type2 diabetes must implement treatment to stabilize the levels and reduce the risks of progression. This is important in that long term complications may result, such as heart disease and kidney failure.

Upon diagnosis, the healthcare physician begins a diabetic management plan. The physician may prescribe oral medication as a treatment of type 2 diabetes. Additionally, it is important that you educate yourself on diabetes, how to control and live with it, and long term complications from it.

Eliminating the symptoms and obtaining acceptable blood glucose levels can be achieved, not only with drugs, but also with exercise and diet. Making essential healthy lifestyle modifications is critical for managing type 2 diabetes. There are several steps that to can implement to self-manage type 2 diabetes. It is important, also, that you make regular visits to your physician as a safety precaution.

1. Self-Testing
a. self monitoring of blood glucose is done by checking glucose content of a small drop of blood

b. a glucometer and a test strip provides an exact reading of blood glucose level

c. test before meals and bedtime

2. Diet and Weight Control
a. diabetes diet plan includes healthy, nutritional meals, along with eating the right amount of food at the right time to control blood glucose levels

b. obtain a registered nutritionist and/or dietician to assist with specific dietary needs

c. weight management is critical as a treatment of type2 diabetes- many type2 diabetics can stop medications after losing weight as obesity is a major contributing factor

3. Regular Physical Activity
a. physical activity improves overall health, blood flow, and blood pressure

b. exercise naturally lowers insulin resistance and controls the amount of glucose in the blood (exercise program)

c. burns calories and fat allowing increased energy levels, lowers tension, and ability to cope with stress

4. Medication
a. only necessary if diet and exercise alone is not effective to maintain blood glucose levels

b. oral medications such as sulfonylureas, biguanides, and/or alpha-glucosidase
inhibitors

c. after oral medications are prescribed, yet continue to have poor blood glucose control, prescribe insulin injections

5. Foot Care
a. people with type2 diabetes are prone to foot problems due to blood vessel and nerve damage which interrupts normal blood flow to the feet causing death of skin or tissue

b. left untreated- must be amputation

c. check feet daily and repeat sores or changes

d. exercise daily to promote circulation

e. discontinue smoking as it worsens blood flow to feet

6. Continuing Care
a. regular checkups and evaluations every 3 months and annually

“The secret to your Diamaxol success starts with our potent, proprietary blend of naturally occurring nutrients, traditionally used over thousands of years and scientifically recognized for their support of healthy blood sugar benefits.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) hosts clinical studies supportive of many key ingredients in Diamaxol.”

To learn more about the vitamins, minerals and botanical extracts in Diamaxol, you can check out their expanded ingredient library.

In addition, MicroNutra claims that their products are manufactured and packaged under the strict guidelines of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration current Good Manufacturing Practices, or cGMP. Our food supplement facilities are FDA-registered and our product claims conform to rigorous FDA standards.

And since Diamaxol is made with all-natural ingredients and no harmful fillers, steroids, or chemicals, and it is safe to take on a regular basis. Pregnant or nursing women should not take Diamaxol. As always, consult your health professional if you have a concern.

There are a lot “natural remedies supplements” springing up online and I can confidently say that many are bogus websites and pills. That is why you can hardly see me recommending any health supplements.

I always tell people to trust only reliable sites and MicroNutra is one of them. From what I know, they have a highly trafficked website (Alexa Ranking of 144,294 as of writing), a ready customer service hotline and a 90-day guarantee.

Is Diamaxol 100% perfect then? I would be lying if I say yes. No product is 100% perfect in my opinion. There are always pros and cons. So what are the cons?

If you read the Diamaxol website entirely, you can find that they mention the words “guaranteed success” and “guaranteed results”. They DON’T mean that you will definitely get to your desired blood sugar level. These words only imply that you will be 100% satisfied with your purchase or they will refund your purchase price.

They state it under the FAQ portion and somehow I find the term “guaranteed success” a bit misleading.

In addition, the 90-day guarantee comes with terms and condition applied. For example, they state:

“Only two bottles/packages of opened product are eligible for a refund. All other packages/bottles of the same product must be in the factory sealed container to be eligible for refund.”

“Because we ask you to give our products a minimum one month trial period, we do not accept returns until this 30-day period has been completed.”

So I advise you read their “Return Policy” in the event that you really need a refund and understand what their “90-day guarantee” really meant.

Other than these 2 minor shortcomings, Diamaxol is generally a reliable and trusted natural diabetes health supplement. Good to go.

In fact, I strongly recommend that you call their customer service hotline. If you have any queries, they will be most willing to help you out. Try them out and get your questions answered. Here are the numbers:

USA Orders Call: 866-945-3992
International: 616-551-4246
Mention Priority Code 254957 and get a Special Introductory Offer of Buy 1 Get 1 FREE. (Valid On Phone Order Only)

Managing diabetes can be extremely challenging. But, it must be done to avoid other life- threatening complications. Most people are unaware that the condition is not only treatable, but it can be cured. As a matter-of- fact, maintaining a diabetes diet plan is the first step to recovery.

Maintaining a healthy diet and exercising regularly would suggest a change in eating habits and implementing daily physical activity. The ultimate goal for treating diabetes is to keep the blood sugar levels as normal as possible. Therefore, eating healthy is a perfect start.

Diabetes is a condition that affects the pancreas and its production of insulin. In type 1 diabetes, the individual does not produce enough insulin and the type 2 diabetic has difficulty using the insulin properly.

In both cases the insulin builds up in the bloodstream inducing increased blood sugar or glucose levels. The glucose normal function is to assist the body’s cells to produce energy for the body to use. More so, if the blood glucose is not controlled by the body’s cells, it remains in the bloodstream.

The bloodstream becomes toxic; poisoning every system of the body. This is why the food that you eat is so significant. The glucose is manufactured from the digested food and by the liver.

A diabetes diet plan generally encompasses dietary changes that successfully balance the moderation of food intake with carbohydrate control and overall healthy eating choices. Most people with diabetes also struggle with obesity.

These dietary changes; which typically involve the reduction of calories and carbohydrate control will also help you loose weight. Of course, this plan should accompany an appropriate exercise regimen.

Learning what foods affect your blood sugar levels is your best defense against diabetes. Your physician will probably suggest that you speak with a nutritionist or dietician to help you prepare this healthy eating plan.

When starting a diabetic diet, you should know what you are destined to accomplish. It is important to secure an overall balance of nutrients. The diet should consist of high fiber and protein, and low in fat and calories.

Because glucose settles in the bloodstream; inducing high sugar levels, diabetics must alleviate sweets and carbohydrates from your diet. The ultimate goals for diabetes diet plan are simple and they should include:

1. Keeping the blood sugar (glucose) levels as normal as possible
Upon diagnosis, whether you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes, it usually requires insulin injections and/or oral medications to help your body’s cells breakdown the sugar into energy. Therefore, the calorie intake is balanced with medications in order to alleviate the body’s sugar level dropping or increasing dramatically.

2. Maintaining healthy lipid levels
Maintain a healthy level of cholesterol and triglycerides in the body. Digestion of too much fat is dangerous and it will eventually damage the heart.

3. Maintaining healthy weight
Obesity triggers and exacerbates the symptoms of diabetes. More so, it adds stress to the heart. It is imperative that a healthy weight is maintained.

4. Avoiding complications
Failure to treat diabetes properly causes the development of other medical complications. The condition has proven to trigger diseases related to the heart, kidneys, eyes, and feet.

As you can see, following a diabetes diet plan is a preventive method for avoiding other medically challenging complications. Furthermore, it also helps with weight loss, healthy lipid levels, and encourages physical activity.

Being diagnosed with diabetes does not mean that your life is over. Although living with diabetes can be challenging, and demands total discipline, progression must be alleviated.

Generally, when diagnosed it is classified as type 1 or type 2. The impact that both types have on your life is critical, however. The disease affects children and adults alike and can indicate life-threatening results if not treated properly.

The type 1 diabetes, also referred to as juvenile diabetes usually develops in children and young adults. The type 2 diabetic is generally 40 years or older. Commonly known as adult-onset diabetes, it accounts for 90 to 95% of all diagnosed cases in America.

Diabetes involves digested food, the pancreas, insulin, and blood sugar (glucose) levels. The condition develops when the individual’s body no longer produces enough insulin or the insulin is not used productively.

It is the pancreas’ job to produce the insulin using the digested food that is turned into glucose. The insulin builds up in the bloodstream causing high blood sugar (glucose) levels as opposed to helping the body cells convert the glucose into fuel or energy for the body.

Living with diabetes for long periods of time may cause irreversible damage to organs of the body. The high blood sugar levels can damage the eyes, blood vessels, nerves, and kidneys. When these organs are damaged, of course, other medical complications occur.

In most cases, there are genetic and/or environmental factors that trigger the onset of diabetes. The genetic pre- disposition often remains dormant until activated by environmental factors.

Effective diabetic management must become a lifestyle choice not an option. The disease forces you to examine specific life-style habits that most people take for granted. Upon diagnosis, depending upon your type, you may require oral medications or insulin injections.

However, diabetes can be treated, controlled, and cured by implementing healthy life-style changes. Diabetes demands that you practice commitment and discipline. The first line of defense against diabetes is to control its progression.

When treating diabetes, the goal is to keep the blood sugar level as close to normal as possible. An increased blood sugar level (hyperglycemia) is not a safe level. Low blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia) are not safe, either.

The key to living with diabetes is to make a commitment to preventive care and management. First, it is important to identify the symptoms that may occur. When the symptoms persist, it is time to seek the attention of your physician immediately.

Excessive thirst

Frequent nausea or vomit

Deep/faster breathing

Weak or drowsy

Lost of significant weight

Breath smells like fingernail polish

Trembles or dizziness

Blurred vision

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, you may be living with diabetes. Once it has been diagnosed, then it’s time to modify your life-style.

Healthy Diet Plan

eat meals around the same time daily

eat three times a day

eat plenty of fiber

eat fewer “empty” calories

Exercise

helps the body use the insulin for energy more effectively

good for the heart, cholesterol levels, blood pressure

helps with mental stability- feeling better/less anxious

lose weight

Stop Smoking and Excessive Drinking

Diabetes is a serious medical condition that affects millions of people. When gone untreated it leads to additional life- threatening conditions. Specifically, diabetes occurs when the pancreas is deteriorating and starts to affect other parts of the body.

Unfortunately, early symptoms diabetes is subtle; therefore you may have diabetes for months or even years before consulting a physician to get treatment. According to the American Diabetes Association (ADA), over 6 million people live with diabetes simply because they don’t recognize the symptoms.

Many of the warning signs are common amongst diabetics, yet still so minor that you don’t think of them as an early indication of diabetes. Early diagnosis and treatment of diabetes guarantees a lifetime of improved overall health.

Therefore, it is recommended that you understand possible diabetes symptoms early. Qualified practitioners will provide the right treatment, to include advice, medications, and diet. People who are experiencing any of the following early symptoms diabetes should consult the physician immediately.

Two of the classic diabetes symptoms are excessive thirst and frequent urination. A diabetic is usually very thirsty and in the need to drink all the time. This symptom occurs because excess sugar builds up in the blood. The kidneys are forced to work overtime in order to filter and absorb the excess sugar.

If the kidney becomes overwhelmed, the excess sugar is excreted into the urine, causing frequent urination. This subsequently leads to increased dehydration. The cycle repeats itself; causing you to consume more liquids and urinating more.

Diabetes may cause you to lose weight unexpectedly for no apparent reason. The weight suddenly begins to fluctuate as a result of frequent urination. Constant urination means that you are losing sugar as well as calories.

Additionally, the condition keeps the sugar that’s in the digested food from moving into the beta cells, which induces constant hunger. Rapid weight loss is especially common in type1 diabetics.

People who are developing diabetes may also experience chronic restlessness or fatigue. Diabetes alleviates the body’s ability to use sugar for energy. More so, the body doesn’t produce enough insulin to breakdown the blood sugar. They also contribute fatigue to the constant need to urinate and dehydration. Therefore, you may feel overly tired for no reason.

Yet another way to detect early symptoms diabetes is by experiencing blurred vision. The inability to focus is caused by high levels of blood sugar. The elevated levels pull fluid from your tissues, including the lenses of the eyes. When left untreated, diabetes may cause new blood vessels to form in the retina and/or damage the old vessels. In worst cases, the diabetic is left with vision loss of blindness.

Type 2 diabetes is a disease for life considered as the most common type of diabetes. It is manifested by high blood sugar levels in the blood due to the lack of response by the body to the insulin produced by the pancreas.

This is prevalent among obese people because the fat is obstructing the ability of the body to use the insulin. Hence, type 2 diabetes medication differs from Type 1 diabetes in as much as it aims to regulate blood sugar levels through weight reduction and oral medication.

The initial treatments, which are normally effective for type 2 diabetes, are good meal planning for lowering the blood glucose (sugar) level, achieving weight loss and exercise. If necessary, oral medication is introduced in the reduction of the blood sugar; otherwise, this may eventually lead to insulin injection since diabetes is a progressive disease.

Type 2 diabetes medications have to deal with two kinds of problem, the inability of the body to produce more insulin and the resistance of the cells to insulin to allow glucose absorption.

Hence, there are five classes of drugs available as oral medication treatments for the type 2 diabetic patient, namely:

1. Sulfonylurea – This drug helps to release more insulin and has been in use since 1950. Usually taken one or two times in a day before meal.

2. Meglitinide – Medication is taken before each meal that stimulates the beta cells to release more insulin.

3. Biguanide – A medication that decreases the glucose production of the liver.

4. Thiazolidinedione – As an oral drug, it helps the insulin to become effective in the muscle and fat, and the reduction of glucose production of the liver.

5. Alpha-glucosidase inhibitor – Should be taken in upon the first bite in a meal. This drug blocks the breakdown of food groups like starch, potato, bread and pasta to lower the level of blood glucose.

A lot of type 2 diabetes medications result to various side effects such as diarrhea, sore throat, nausea, upper respiratory tract infection, heart problem, etc. The afflicted should carefully monitor the intake of these medications to avoid further complications. It is best to inform the reader that alcohol and some diabetes pills may cause some interaction resulting to vomiting, redness of the skin or sickness.

To allow the medication pills to work efficiently, the diabetic patient has to eat meals that are well planned and support the treatment with a suitable exercise regimen. These oral medications are expected to work well only among type 2 diabetes, since the body system can still wait for the medicine to pass the process of digestion before reaching the blood stream.

However, there are instances when diabetes pills will not work for some. They may achieve a lowering of blood glucose levels when they take the pills, but not enough to achieve reaching the near normal range. These are the cases when some patients have to take both oral medication and insulin shots. Accordingly, the aim is to help the insulin to work more efficiently.

Using medications wisely is part of managing a patient’s diabetes. Hence, with the able support of the doctor, nurse, dietitian and the diabetes educator, the diabetic patients can obtain the best effects of a type 2 diabetes medication.
